Drehmal: PRIME MOTOR OIL

Despite it being decidedly non-canon, this article and the event/map discussed contains spoilers for areas related to post-75% tower completion. If you have not reached 75% completion or finished the full 75% story sequence through the "Apotheosis" advancement, we strongly advise that you do not continue to read this article.

Spoiler Door

PRIME MOTOR OIL (stylized as PRIME MΩTOR OIL and acronymized as PMO or PMΩ) follows a joke continuity in which Maelihs has conquered large areas of the disc and divine moon, not for dominion, but for the construction of massive motorized ice-boat racing tracks. PMO is a complete and official spinoff featuring a proper OST, fully coded racing behavior, and even joke lore books scattered throughout the map.

More information, as well as a download for an offline version of the worldfile, is available at both https://www.drehmal.net/primemotoroil and on the Planet Minecraft thread.

Announcement

On April 1st, 2026, a comedic continuation of the recently-shown teaser lore book Shortcut was posted, along with an announcement that the official Events server was open once again.

Shortcut pt. 2

...
The grinding roar grew louder yet again as Gona slid down a gravel ramp down the cliff toward town. Even with forbidden Deity Wars technology, Gona doubted that he could catch up to the Maelmari now.
Nearly the entire population of Mohta had turned up to watch. But no skipper worth their salt yields to shame.
As the motor-boats of the three Maelmari leaders roared past Gona, black smoke choked his lungs. Coughing, he haphazardly ran and slid across the glittering ice just before the fourth nearly ran him down.
His pit team- Sana, Nohna, and Clyde, waved him over. He removed the engine from his pack and immediately lowered his aching body into his Pride of Kyalah. In under thirty seconds, he had the all-clear.
Even if he placed last in the Mohtaway by a mile, Gona knew he had a chance. The Omega Cup was four races, after all! Gona took an experimental row. The forbidden engine hummed and whirred and launched him forward with the fury of a hurricane.
With this speed, he could compete. With this speed, he could win.
And you can win too!
...
It's time to polish your oars. Adjust your keel. And get ready to start your engines.
Starting today, and continuing for the next four days, you can join the Drehmal Events Server and put the pedal to the metal to contend for the legendary OMEGA CUP.
Who cares about exploration or feelings anyway? Pitiable. The only thing that matters is pure, unadulterated speed.
Goodbye and good riddance to Drehmal:PRIMΩRDIAL. It's time for DREHMAL: PRIME MΩTOR OIL!

Content

Players will spawn in to find themselves in a Terminus-like lobby. This lobby contains buttons to start all 4 individual tracks, as well as the Omega Cup Grand Prix, consisting of all four in succession. Various easter eggs and statistics are held in the lobby as well, including mannequins that display the current record times on each track.

There are 4 tracks, each with their own layout and record times to beat. All are versions of current locations from 2.2, but heavily terraformed and altered to better fit the path for the racers.

Each track, and the grand prix, has a defined set of time splits: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and OMEGA.

Omega Cup

The Omega Cup is a Grand Prix, consisting of all 4 race tracks in the order presented below. In multiplayer, points are scored Mario Kart-style, based on placement in each individual track.

Split Time to Beat
Bronze 18:30
Silver 17:00
Gold 16:00
OMEGA 15:17.500

Tri-Moon Mohtaway

The circuit's next track starts at Ancehl Castle, weaving a scenic route through Akhlo'Rohma, north to Faehrcyle via an Avsohmic pipe, with the finish line being the entrance to Mt. Yavhlix. The second half of its route, as well as the music that plays during this section, heavily invokes the Mythbreaker Run.

Silver 3:35
Gold 3:20
OMEGA 3:08.850

Highway to Hellcrags

Soundtrack

PMO has a custom soundtrack composed by Penngo, a builder and musician on the Drehmal dev team. The 7 original tracks can be found in this Youtube playlist.

Track Name Location Notes
The Beach That Makes You Fast Tri-Moon Mohtaway (Race) I'm not going to entertain the idea that a beach could make you fast.
Kurhtain'Kahl Tri-Moon Mohtaway (Finish) A play on the term "Curtain Call", worked into the region name of Lorahn'Kahl.
FLORAPOCALYPSE Boatanical Mountainslide (Race) The first half of the track is original, while the second (rock) half interpolates "Divine Fulmination" and "Earn Your Glory", both in Drehmal's 2.2 soundtrack. Only the second half of the track loops in-game.
Boatanical Mountainslide's finish song is the base-game Mt. Yavhlix interior ambience.
Highway to Hellcrags Highway to Hellcrags (Race) The only PMO track to not get a quippy title. What a travesty.
Afterburner Highway to Hellcrags (Finish)
Aurowa Boatealis Lunar Luge (Race) The title is a pun that inserts "rowboat" into "Aurora Borealis", the name for the northern lights, as players boat across auroras in this track. Drehmal 2.3 composer Sonos Vitae also contributed directly to this track (namely, the orchestral swell in the beginning).
Lunar Luge re-uses Kurhtain'Kahl for its finish track.
Lobby Lobby An intentionally jarring and amateurish track which repeats to players in the world's lobby. Removed in the singleplayer download.
